Slow Cooker Philly Cheesesteak Sloppy Joes Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
  2. Mix Ingredients: In a slow cooker, combine the browned beef, chopped onion, bell peppers, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  3. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the peppers are tender and the flavors have melded.
  4. Add Cheese: About 15 minutes before serving, place a slice of provolone cheese on top of the beef mixture in the slow cooker. Cover and let the cheese melt.
  5. Serve: Spoon the Philly cheesesteak mixture onto the hamburger buns and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
