- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 medium green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 medium red bell pepper, finely chopped
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- Chopped fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Brown the Beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat.
- Mix Ingredients: In a slow cooker, combine the browned beef, chopped onion, bell peppers, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until the peppers are tender and the flavors have melded.
- Add Cheese: About 15 minutes before serving, place a slice of provolone cheese on top of the beef mixture in the slow cooker. Cover and let the cheese melt.
- Serve: Spoon the Philly cheesesteak mixture onto the hamburger buns and garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
