- 2 lbs flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon minced ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup sliced green onions
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Place the sliced flank steak into a slow cooker.
- Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, water, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Pour the sauce over the beef in the slow cooker.
- Cook: Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours until the beef is tender.
- Thicken the Sauce: In the last 30 minutes of cooking, whisk together cornstarch and a little water to create a slurry. Stir this mixture into the slow cooker to thicken the sauce.
- Serve: Once thickened, stir in sliced green onions. Serve over cooked rice.
