  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds ground beef
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Patties: In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until just combined, then shape into 4-6 oval patties.
  2. Brown the Patties: In a skillet over medium heat, brown the patties on both sides for about 2-3 minutes. This step is optional but adds extra flavor.
  3. Make the Gravy: In a separate bowl, whisk together beef broth, onion soup mix, cream of mushroom soup, and Worcestershire sauce.
  4. Combine in the Crockpot: Place the browned patties in the crockpot, then pour the gravy mixture over them, ensuring they are well coated.
  5. Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the patties are cooked through and tender.
  6. Serve: Garnish with fresh parsley if desired and serve over mashed potatoes or rice to enjoy the rich gravy.
