- 2 pounds flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup beef broth
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Cooked rice for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Beef: Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain and season with salt and pepper.
- Mix the Sauce: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, beef broth, minced garlic, ginger, and sesame oil.
- Combine in the Crockpot: Place beef in the crockpot and pour the sauce over it. Stir to coat the beef evenly.
- Slow Cook: Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the beef is tender.
- Add Broccoli: About 30 minutes before serving, stir in the broccoli florets. If using the cornstarch mixture for thickening, add it at this point and stir well.
- Serve: Spoon the beef and broccoli over cooked rice and enjoy your hearty meal.
